Fiddlehead Island

Site Steward:

Site Description:
A peaceful campsite is located on the third wooded island in reach between McIndoe Falls and Dodge Falls.
More Info:
Access the campsite from river right, about halfway down the island. Respect the island's fragile ecology by staying within the designated camping area. In the fall of 2012, this site was refurbished during the annual Source to Sea Clean-up event. Over three canoes of garbage were removed! A picnic table and privy were also installed. Help us keep this a clean and well respected site by practicing Leave No Trace Principles.

Functional but overgrown

The new Paddler's Map shows this as being only one mile below the dam, but it's much further; this website is probably correct.

As of August 2014 it is terribly overgrown and desperately needs a weed whacker; the privy has been crushed by a fallen tree. On the upside, it has a rope swing (caution: shallow water!).
