Site Description:
Located on a shady river terrace on the New Hampshire side of the river, across from the north end of Stevens Island.
More Info:
Constructed by the Vermont River Conservancy volunteers in 2011, the campsite is on land generously opened to the public by a private landowner. It is about 1.5 miles below the confluence with the Passumpsic River. A picnic table, box privy, and register box has been installed, and wayfinding signage installed should help paddlers locate the site from the river. Best for small group -there is room (barely) for three small tents. Suggested donation for use: $5/person/night. (Donation box installed on site). Please remember to practice Leave No Trace principles to ensure this campsite remains open to the public for years to come.
