Take out on a landing behind the closed Candlestick Restaurant, immediately downstream of the Rt 3 bridge, to scout/portage the rapids that follow, which can be Class III in high water. A path provides provides access to Rt 3. To portage, walk along the Rt 253 approximately 650 yards before climbing over a guardrail and bushwacking back down to the river.
