The Bellows Falls Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history of the village of Bellows Falls, Vermont.
Formed in the 1960's, the Historical Society maintains the Adams Grist Mill Museum, located near the railroad on the North corner of the Square. The Mill was built in 1831; The structure houses much of its original equipment, including all the grain elevators and storage bins. Implements from the Vermont Farm Machinery Company are also stored in the building, as well as household articles, antique signs, and hand tools used by various craftsmen. The original sleigh for the Mill, as well as a family sleigh are on exhibit, all belonging to the Adams Family.
The Bellows Falls Historical Society is working to transform a seven+ acre parcel adjacent to the Mill and the Connecticut River as a nature and bird sanctuary, complete with a boat launch, bike path, nature trails, picnic and family recreational area, and the first river frontage the Village has had in over 100 years.
