Canaan to Maidstone with kids

Looking to do a late summer trip with wife, dog and a 3 and 5 year old.

Is this a good stretch of water with nice camping for the family?

Will one of the outfitters rent one canoe (we have one and want two) and help with a shuttle?

Hello, I do shuttling of folks on the river. Mainly Canaan, Vt to Dalton, NH area. I also have a private campsite in my field on the Ct. at approx. mile 52 (across from the Lemington Vt access). Not sure of skill level so hesitate to recommend different stretches you may consider, but there are some lots of camping spots available - Stratford/Bloomfield area to Guildhall would be mainly flat water.
