We are planning a northern trip from Canaan to Waterford. We have typical backpacking/water filters. Are these adequate for the northern portions of the river?
I suppose it would be adequate for just about anywhere on the Connecticut in VT/NH. I have a Sawyer Products Mini Water Filtration System and I trust it as long as I'm not dipping from a water treatment plant or something. I don't know what kind of filtration system you have, but mine claims to filter 99. 99999% of bacteria like salmonella, cholera, and E. coli and 99. 9999% of all protozoa like giardia and cryptosporidium. I haven't gotten sick using it yet.
