By wife and I finished a 24 mile trip from North Walpole, NH to Brattleboro, VT back on Sept 1. We put in at the southern end of the portage trail and paddled through to Brattleboro to take out. We had the northern section of the river to ourselves and only started seeing power boats in the last 8 or so miles. People
we meet along the way were very friendly, we spotted two Bald Eagles along the way.
We did the two vehicles drop the night before and parked with the assistance of the staff at VT Canoe Touring Center. In fact I had called them the week before and they were very helpful with advice for our trip. Great staff.
Great trip little long all in one day but worth it......

We did the same trip
We did the same trip but camped overnight at the Windyhust Campsite. Other than some loud neighbors at the campsite, it was a great trip. Would do it again in a heartbeat but might look for a campsite a bit further downriver.
