I’m looking to do a canoe trip with my fiancé from either the Colebrook area or Stratford area to the Wyoming Dam in Northumberland, NH.
I’m looking for any info about this stretch of river. Travel time? Distance? Dangerous areas?
Thanks in advance!

Colebrook to Guildhall
Hi: We have done two overnight trips on the Connecticut river and encountered very few problems. The river was almost deserted of paddlers during our trips. I'll try to recall this as best I can. We did a three day overnight trip in October from Bloomfield, Vt to the Mt Orno covered bridge. The water level was low. You needed a GPS to find some of the conservancy campsites which were not obvious from the river. The portage at Guildhall took time but was not gruesome.
We later did a three day trip from Canaan to the Maidstone bridge on the second week of Maine. The water was very high and the current fast.Lyman Falls came up quickly without much warning. There were some standing waves. You could avoid the big waves by moving to the river's edges. The campsites were outstanding at Lyman falls and above.
