Appalachian Mountain Club

Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) has grown from a small group of explorers into a robust community of members dedicated to the protection of the outdoors across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This long-standing history is rooted in a mission to connect people with nature through a combination of outdoor recreation, environmental advocacy, and land stewardship.

The AMC has played a pivotal role in the expansion and development of the Connecticut River Paddlers’ Trail–particularly the expansion into Massachusetts and Connecticut. Today, they are playing a leadership role in assisting with trail coordination and development.
