The most dangerous remains of the breached Lyman Falls dam were removed in 2022 through an effort led by the Connecticut River Conservancy. One section was left and capped with boulders to help maintain a popular fishing hole. However, at high water, the waves may still be capable of swamping open boats. Scout or portage this Class II drop on river left (land on the island). If you are planning to spot at Lyman Falls (VT), you may want to run the rapid on river right.

Does this require a portage now?
I can't tell from the description if this requires a portage. If we were coming down from Canaan in late August, would we stay to the right and run the rapid? Or would it be too shallow?
