Holyoke Gas and Electric s a municipally owned utility that provides electricity and natural gas products and services to over 18,000 customers. They own and operated a hydroelectric dam in Holyoke, and provide shuttle services for paddlers.

As the holder of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) License for the Holyoke Project, HG&E pairs hydroelectric generation with purposeful environmental stewardship that includes protecting valuable natural, cultural, and scenic resources on the Connecticut River, as well as providing public recreational facilities within its Project boundaries.
